Serving Opportunities at Faith
Please read through the service opportunities and then email firstname.lastname@example.org with a list of your areas of interest. Once your email is received, you will be included in the monthly volunteer request email and have the ability then to sign up for opportunities as your schedule permits.
Altar Flowers: Bring a real or faux floral arrangement to set on the Altar during a Sunday Worship Service. The arrangement must be brought to the service in a water able container.
Altar Preparer: Transport altar box and set up altar items prior to service each Sunday for 1 month at a time.
Musician & Singers: Use musical gifts in worship. This includes a short rehearsal midweek and pre-service rehearsal each Sunday.
Reader: Print and bring 2011 NIV version of the week’s Bible text; read the lesson aloud during the Sunday service.
Ushers: Assist with finding seating when needed; work with other ushers to collect the offering; bring offering to the altar after collection; count worshippers in attendance; release worshippers by rows for communion.
Inside Facility Greeters: Welcome worshippers in a genuine and warm way as they enter the worship facility; assist and direct those as needed; assist at the welcome table if needed.
Outside Facility Greeters: Welcome worshippers in a genuine and warm way as they park vehicles and approach the facility; assist and direct those as needed.
Refreshment Host(ess): Purchase and bring treats for worshippers for pre & post-service fellowship. (food MUST be purchased from a store or bakery due to facility regulations); provide a welcoming presence during pre & post service fellowship.
Welcome Table: Welcome worshippers in a genuine and warm way; obtain contact information from new visitors; assist with name badges and event enrollment; share church information and answer questions.
Kids’ Church Leader: Lead kids from worship area to kids’ space after children’s sermon; guide kids through lesson, crafts, and activities; leverage support from Jr./Sr. Highers to assist; be warm, friendly, patient, caring, organized, and have a sense of humor and a genuine heart for support of younger children. Requires 1 to 1.5 hours prep time each week with curriculum provided; must be at least 18 years old; background check required.
Kids’ Church Assistant Leader: Work with Kids’ Church Leader to lead kids from worship area to kids’ space; help guide lesson, crats, and activities; be warm, friendly, patient, caring, organized, and have a sense of humor and a genuine heart for supporting younger children. Effectively take direction from adult leader; no prep time required.
Prayer & Care Coordinator: Work with Pastor Brian to coordinate sending notes; making phone calls and addressing prayer requests; coordinate home and hospital visits – gift of compassion a MUST.
Care Package Coordinator: Work with Director of Missions to coordinate collection of care items, coordinate assembly and distribution of packages to college students, and active duty military personnel, first responders, seniors.
Senior High Program, Service/Fellowship Coordinator: Work with Director of Family Ministries to identify, plan, and coordinate service and fellowship activities for senior high students.
