Jim Pitzer recounts Abraham and Lot parting ways. Lot tried to manage himself, didn’t seek God’s wisdom or guidance, and pitched tents near Sodom. Are we today standing where Lot stood? Over time, Lot sat at the city gate becoming more indistinguishable from society around him. Unlike Abraham who was willing to sacrifice his son to God, Lot became willing to sacrifice his daughters to the world. For us, today is a new day! It is full of choices and we each must decide where to pitch our tents.
