The Bible from 35,000 Feet – Amos

Pastor Brian Goke asserts that God’s people in Amos’ day worshiped God in the temple but worshiped idols as soon as they left. We often do the same. Through Amos, God warned the kingdom of Israel and warns us. Justice (what is morally true and objectively right) is not decided by the government, popular culture, or individuals. God alone sets the plumb line that our firm foundation is to be built around. As Jesus followers, we live out Biblical justice by treating ALL people equally; providing special consideration for the poor, powerless, and vulnerable; and being truly generous with our resources and time!
