Pastor Brian Goke describes the tension and stress among the disciples in the intimate setting of John 14. For them, and for us, it sometimes feels like the world is on fire. We live in troubling times and it is easy to become focused on the trouble. Jesus redirects our focus to him exclusively as the way the truth and the life. He also invites us to believe and trust in God and actively release our troubles to him. Jesus models this in his relationship with his Father – the ever-present protector and provider. We can believe and trust. He is the solution for our troubled hearts. When we are in right relationship with our heavenly Father, we see ourselves and others in a new light of compassion!
