John Petrillo, our “guest proclaimer”, notes that Gideon displayed some characteristics common among those who have critical thinking gifts. Gideon made informed decisions and solved problems while serving in a cyclical era of God’s people falling away and feeling consequence, repenting, and God’s faithful rescue and restoration. God patiently handled Gideon’s fear and doubts just as he does ours, but we shouldn’t dwell there! We should also take care to actively listen and consider others’ feelings in our decision making and problem solving. Our Life Groups are practical forums to grow in God’s gifts in order to take our gifts into the world to share!
