Pastor Brian Goke explores part of Paul’s letter to the Gentiles and Jews freely gathered into the body of Christ at Ephesus. Jesus’ work had recently removed longstanding physical and relational barriers. Paul acknowledged their struggles with the change and reminded them that only in Christ is there peace and reconciliation. Like the Ephesians, we must keep Jesus Christ as our cornerstone and God’s word as the bedrock of the place where freely gathered disciples are reconciled. During confession, we seek reconciliation with God; in sharing his peace, we seek reconciliation with one another. We then meet the presence of God and move out into the community as effective witnesses!
