Joy to the World – 2

Pastor Brian Goke describes Luke’s meticulous record of the angel Gabriel’s declaration to Mary. This was not Mary’s plan, but God’s alone. Mary did not earn this blessing, and yet, in grace, God came to her with the invitation. Mary’s question indicates she understood the gap between her ordinary, sinful nature and the holiness and perfection of God. A gap that can only be filled by Jesus! God gave to Mary the grace, peace, and faith that she would need to get through the struggle and suffering of saying “yes”. He invites us to say “yes” as well!
