Synopsis

LCMC Pastor Julie Smith observes that it is in our nature to think of ourselves as the center of the universe. David suggests in Psalm 8 that when we consider the night sky, we’ll realize we are of little consequence to the workings of the universe. Against all logic, though, the Creator is mindful of us! God declares each of us as created in his image, crowned with his glory and honor. Even though we reject God every time we put ourselves first, he pursues us and puts us in our place – right next to him in his kingdom. We’re invited to pray and trust that the Creator of all continues to sustain it and has in fact redeemed it. We are reconciled to God through Jesus and so go into the world with the profound and eternal sense that … all manner of things will be well!
