Pastor Brian Goke contrasts Solomon’s wisdom and professed orthodoxy (what he believed) with his orthopraxy (how he behaved). Solomon failed to live according to what he knew to be true. Being honest, we can relate to Solomon’s dilemma. We read, study, and debate Scripture and yet struggle with our everyday behavior. Jesus justified us through his blood. Once we surrender our lives, the question becomes, “how do I grow”? Left on our own, we tend to be educated beyond our level of obedience. God’s primary vehicle for growing disciples of Jesus is the church. We encourage and hold each other accountable in relationship and the Holy Spirit sanctifies us!
