Ancient empires were built on the might of warriors and the absolute power of rulers. The all-powerful Jesus restrained his power to serve others. Against human instinct, his followers began to serve as well and influenced their culture. Today it is often missed that our own government structure reflects this “flipping” of power that Jesus taught. “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights…”  When Jesus came he changed everything!
