Pastor Brian Goke explains that God’s one true story, The Bible, helps us to understand our own story, purpose, and place. God remains sovereign and Jesus is the center! Simeon grounded his life in God’s story, which made him open and hopeful for rescue and restoration. Simeon didn’t witness Jesus’ teachings or miracles and yet, through the Holy Spirit, he recognized Jesus as The Messiah! Like Simeon, let’s ground ourselves in God’s story and hold ourselves open – hopefully and expectantly looking – for God to move among us in this new year!
