The Gospel of John 13:1-17

Kendall Oliver of Covenant Reformed Baptist Church in Decatur shares the familiar text in which Jesus gives us the perfect example of humble service – washing the feet of all 12 of his disciples. Like Peter, we often don’t understand and feel like there is no way that Jesus could look at our (sometimes secret) sin and persist in the desire to cleanse us. Yet, this is the very purpose of Jesus’ first coming – to cleanse sinners. Once cleansed, we are made new. In the light of Jesus, our only hope, how much more should we respond by loving and serving one another in humility until he returns?
