Pastor Brian Goke notes that the book of Isaiah can be thought of as the Bible in miniature. Isaiah deals with the law, judgement, and condemnation, but also grace, forgiveness and hope. Isaiah preached truth for 50 years to kings and God’s people in Judah who were trusting alliances with people around them instead of relying on him. Isaiah warned them, and us, that God knows each person’s heart and doesn’t want any part of hollow worship offered just to “check a box”. We should be careful to not compartmentalize our faith. We should regularly confess sin, cry out to God, and keep Jesus in the center. Does my Christian faith look more like a pizza or a bicycle wheel?
